Tonic and stimulating, Scots pine essential oil restores strength and vigor in the event of a slack. Refreshing and energizing, it frees the airways and diffuses a pleasant fragrance evoking a walk in the forest.
History of Pine Essential Oil
Scots Pines are slender trees with ocher-red bark, native to Asia, and growing in the mountains. Their longevity generally reaches 200 years but some of them can live more than 700 years.
Today, its natural range is extremely wide: it is found from the south of the Iberian Peninsula to Turkey, from the Scottish mountains to Manchuria via the far north of Siberia. It is commonly used in construction and in the manufacture of pulp, its wood being exploited to produce plywood peeling and in carpentry. It also produces turpentine and, of course, essential oil of Scots Pine.
Properties of Pine Essential Oil
The properties of Pine Essential Oil are explained by the presence of active compounds originally present in the needles and pine cones of Pinus sylvestris.
Expectorant and mucolytic
The richness of the oil in alpha pinene stimulates the mucin glands, which thins the mucus and facilitates its elimination. A very interesting property to fight against cough.
Respiratory decongestant
Thanks to its richness in alpha pinene and limonene, Scots Pine oil tones the vein walls and helps improve blood and lymphatic circulation. 1,8-cineole is also very active in soothing inflammation of the entire respiratory tree.
Anti-inflammatory and analgesic
The pinenes contained in the oil are thermogenic, bringing a sensation of local heat while bornyl acetate is a central and peripheral analgesic.
Hormonal stimulant
The cortison-like activity of alpha pinene makes it effective in asthenia, usable in bronchitis, sinusitis and asthma.
Other properties:
- Anti-infective and antiseptic
- Immune stimulant
- Hypo-allergenic
- Venous and lymphatic decongestant
- Utero-ovarian decongestant
Energizing and invigorating
Thanks to its richness in monoterpenes, Pine Essential Oil is a general tonic and stimulant for the body. This property is explained by the stimulation of the adrenal cortex.
Indications of Pine Essential Oil
Thanks to the many properties described above, Scots Pine oil has multiple indications.
Immune deficiencies
The contribution of the essential oil to the antioxidant system and its immunomodulatory capacity makes it possible to globally increase the immune response to external aggressions. It is therefore recommended for diffusion in sick rooms, in the event of convalescence, epidemics and viral or bacterial infections.
ENT and respiratory disorders
Thanks to the expectorant, mucolytic and antitussive properties of Scots Pine, ENT infections are among the indications for the oil for inhalation, diffusion or massage, during the day because the essential oil is invigorating: asthma, ENT congestion, mucus, infection ENT and respiratory (nasopharyngitis, colds, bronchitis, etc.), stuffy nose, allergic rhinitis, sinusitis, cough.
Skin disorders
Its antibacterial and antiseptic properties encourage its use in case of eczema, skin mycosis or parasitosis: dilute in vegetable oil and apply to the affected part.
Joint and muscle pain
The anti-inflammatory and analgesic potential of Scots Pine helps relieve osteoarthritis, arthritis, sciatica, lumbago, rheumatism, stiffness and muscle/joint pain (dilute in vegetable oil and massage the painful area) .
Blood circulation disorders and hypotension
Dilute with a vegetable oil and massage the area concerned to take advantage of the venous decongestant virtues of Scots Pine oil, and its benefits on the following problems: cellulite, heavy legs, water retention.
Other indications

Due to its richness in menthol, Peppermint Essential Oil has a highly refreshing action and remarkable analgesic properties, which give it a place as the first choice in the first aid kit for families or athletes: Peppermint is indeed an essential oil essential during shocks, blows or painful stings. It is also used to relieve headaches and migraines, improve digestion, unclog the nose, counter nausea and fight bad breath.
Whatever the use of Peppermint Essential Oil, it is preferable to dilute it in vegetable oil to limit the risk of skin irritation, reduce the smell which can be heady, and avoid an excessive cold effect.
History of Peppermint Essential Oil
Peppermint is a hybrid plant, that is to say, the result of a cross between water mint and another species of mint. Its origin dates back to ancient times: it would probably have emerged in a vast region encompassing northern Africa, the Mediterranean basin, and western Asia. The Egyptians, Hebrews, and ancient Greeks already knew it and used it for its therapeutic properties.
Today, like spearmint, peppermint is grown on a large scale, but other more marginal varieties such as pineapple mint or lemon mint (Bergamot) are also enjoying some success.
Properties of Peppermint Essential Oil
When to use Peppermint Essential Oil?
-Pain relieved by cold (trauma, blows, bruises, sprains, strains, punctures)
-Migraines and headaches
-Nausea, motion sickness
-Digestive disorders (spasms, dyspepsia, bloating, irritable bowel, colitis, bad breath)
-Heavy or swollen legs
-Concentration, fatigue
Pain and itching
Menthol gives Peppermint Essential Oil great pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory properties. Just like the cold, menthol indeed activates the thermal receptors of the skin, which leads to deep analgesia (relief of pain). The Thermo receptors implicated are the TRPM8 receptors sensitive to cold temperatures and involved in the processes of inflammation, pain, and itching (pruritus). This analgesic (anti-pain) property has been verified experimentally on a model of chronic neuropathic pain.
As soon as there is pain, redness, heat, or itching (pruritus), Peppermint Essential Oil will relieve you.
Headaches and migraines
Whatever the origin of the headaches (hepatic, vascular, infectious origin), Peppermint Essential Oil can reduce or even relieve pain.
In the case of migraines and headaches, the essential oil of Peppermint is used in the local application (ideally diluted, max 10%), on the areas of the forehead, the temples, and the sinuses. After application, massage these areas insistently with your fingertips, ideally on acupuncture points.
Digestive disorders
With regard to digestive disorders, peppermint first of all promotes gastric emptying: the stomach empties more quickly, which relieves the feelings of distension of the stomach and can be useful in case of gastric sourness.
Added to this are spasmolytic, anti-inflammatory, and carminative (anti-flatulence) properties which give Peppermint a clinically proven action on several digestive ailments such as:
- Irritable bowel syndrome
- Intestinal spasms
- Functional dyspepsia (digestive disorders which are generally manifested by pain in the stomach, and bloating)
- Inflammatory bowel pain: in combination with caraway essential oil
- Peppermint Essential Oil is also useful for managing nausea.
It also has an action on the gallbladder: Peppermint Essential Oil, due to its choleretic properties and its relaxing action on the sphincters, will also be of interest in cases of biliary insufficiency.
ENT disorders
We must consider on the one hand the action of menthol which allows a relaxation of the respiratory tracts when they are contracted, on the other hand the anti-inflammatory, mucolytic and refreshing properties of Peppermint, and we obtain a remarkable essential oil to relieve ENT ailments, in synergy with other anti-infectious essential oils of course.
Other indications
Decreased vigilance and emotional shock
Peppermint Essential Oil will give you a “boost” in case of:
- Mental and physical fatigue, driving, loss of concentration
- Stage fright, anxiety, chest tightness, intense fear

From parsley seeds, this powerful tonic essential oil recipe is traditionally recommended to help promote and regulate menstrual cycles.
History of Parsley Essential Oil
Parsley originates from the Mediterranean basin and was domesticated in southern Europe, probably in Sardinia first. The Greeks held it in high esteem: they crowned the winners of games made of its leaves and made wreaths for their dead. It was not until the 15th century, however, that its use in cooking became more democratic throughout Europe and became one of the most popular aromatic herbs.
Used as a seasoning, parsley cannot provide all the health benefits attributed to it: to take advantage of its therapeutic properties, it must be consumed in the form of an extract or essential oil.
Properties of Parsley Essential Oil
The properties of Parsley Essential Oil are explained by the presence of active compounds originally present in the seeds of Petroselinum sativum apioliferum (parsley, flat-leaf parsley, common parsley).
Menstrual cycle regulator, uterine tonic
Medicinal plants that stimulate blood flow in the pelvic region and uterus are called emmenagogues. Like yarrow, wormwood and mugwort, parsley is one of them. It, therefore, promotes menstruation by stimulating blood flow in these areas.
Nerve and muscle tonic
Parsley Essential Oil has tonic and appetizing properties due to its richness in monoterpenes (Pinenes, P-menthatriene).
Detoxifying
Myristicin increases hepatic detoxification capacity through the activity of glutathione-S-transferase (phase II enzyme).
Other properties:
- Antispasmodic
- Anti-catarrhal
Neurotonic
Thanks to its richness in monoterpenes, Parsley Essential Oil is a general tonic and stimulant for the body. This property is explained by the stimulation of the adrenal cortex.
Indications of Parsley Essential Oil
Thanks to the many properties described above, flat-leaf parsley oil has multiple indications.
Digestive disorders
The tonic and antispasmodic properties of the oil make it possible to use in the treatment of various disorders (gas, bloating, disturbed transit, etc.).
Muscle and joint pain
Thanks to its tonic properties, Parsley Essential Oil can be used to relieve muscle or joint pain.
Painful menstruation and menstrual disorders
Thanks to the regulating properties of the menstrual cycle, flat parsley is indicated in menstrual disorders, in particular in amenorrhea, when the process of premenstrual congestion is engaged: dilute with vegetable oil and massage the lower abdomen.
Warning: NEVER USE IN CASE OF PREGNANCY
- Anguish and anxiety
- Nervousness: in olfaction
- Sleep (disorders)
- Stress (the essential oil is both calming and euphoric)
Use of Parsley Essential Oil
Parsley Essential Oil can be used in very different ways for a wide spectrum of diseases and symptoms. Nevertheless, in case of doubt, it is recommended to contact a professional in order to collect personalized and secure information, adapted to your medical situation, your profile, and your age.
Cutaneous application, massage
Parsley Essential Oil can be dermocaustic and must be diluted to 10% in vegetable oil.
- For all the problems to be treated, dilute one drop of essential oil with nine drops of vegetable oil, then apply and massage the area concerned.
- For menstrual disorders: dilute with vegetable oil and massage the lower abdomen.
- Dysmenorrhea (painful periods): dilute with vegetable oil and massage the lower abdomen.
- Muscle and joint pain: dilute with vegetable oil and massage the affected areas.
- Colitis: dilute with vegetable oil and gently massage the belly.
- Digestive disorders (gas, bloating, disturbed transit, etc.): dilute with vegetable oil and massage the belly.

The essential oil of Oregano is best known for its very powerful broad-spectrum anti-infective activity, which has earned it or its main compound, carvacrol, to be very widely studied today. As soon as an infection or superinfection, severe or repeated, sets in, Oregano can be part of an aromatic anti-infective and immunostimulant treatment.
We know a little less about its other anti-inflammatory, analgesic, antioxidant and anti-tumor properties, which also hold a promising future for it in clinical aromatherapy in other indications such as the prevention of asthma or the prevention of cancer.
With regard to the use of the essential oil of Oregano, only a seasoned person in aromatherapy will be able to consider its use locally: it will then always be necessary to strongly dilute it in vegetable oil, under penalty, if not, to feel a very unpleasant feeling of irritation, even burning. For the oral route, in order to protect the mucous membranes, it is preferable to consume the essential oil of Oregano in capsule form. You can buy ready-made capsules or ask your pharmacist to prepare capsules for you.
History of Oregano Essential Oil
Native to Asia and the Mediterranean basin, oregano belongs to the same botanical genus as marjoram. It was used by the Egyptians to embalm their dead and appease the gods, before becoming a herb known to aid digestion in Ancient Rome.
Today, oregano enjoys very good popularity in the kitchen and has completely erased its cousin, marjoram, even though its flavor is less fine and less rich. An essential oil that is highly appreciated in the food industry as well as in perfumery and therapeutically is obtained from it.
On the other hand, from a nutritional point of view, it is much more interesting to use fresh Oregano…
Use of Oregano Essential oil
- Severe infectious disorders of any type
- ENT, respiratory
- Digestive
- Urinary
- Gynecological
- Severe skin disorders
- Rebellious infectious dermatitis (fungal, or bacterial)
- Rebellious acne
Infectious disorders
Oregano essential oil is the most powerful essential oil to fight against bacterial, and fungal germs, protozoa, and other internal parasites.
In humans, as in animals, many studies attest to this anti-infective power. It will be effective on many grams + or, more rarely, gram – bacteria, as well as on yeasts.
It has also shown its effectiveness on antibiotic-resistant, fungal, or bacterial germs, as well as on bacterial biofilms.
Carvacrol, often present at more than 60% in oregano essential oils, is the compound mainly responsible for this anti-microbial action, an action that thymol, in a smaller quantity, will reinforce.
Benefits of carvacrol and thymol
The predominantly hydrophobic and slightly hydrophilic nature of these two molecules allows them to both:
- To interact effectively with microbial hydrophobic structures, and thus inhibit or destroy these same microbes
- And to penetrate into more hydrophilic environments such as bacterial or fungal biofilms: to simplify, there are populations of microbes, installed within our organism in the form of biofilm, which represent reservoirs of microbes, which can lead, according to the condition of the individual, to chronic infections (cystitis or repeated angina for example). The interest of these aromatic molecules, therefore, lies in the fact that they can reach within these biofilms microbial targets that are difficult to reach by conventional antibiotics, and thus reduce their level of virulence.
Therapeutic application of the essential oil of Oregano
Oregano essential oil can be used in all forms of infectious pathologies. Nevertheless, its irritant and toxic potential will require formal compliance with the precautions for use, as well as preferred oral use in the form of capsules or capsules, in the context of severe, repeated, or stubborn infections.
Digestive infectious disorders
- Gastroenteritis
- tourists
- Dysentery
- Amebiasis
Urinary tract infections
- Cystitis
- Pyelonephritis
- Urethritis
Gynecological infectious disorders
Respiratory infectious disorders
- Nasopharyngitis
- Bronchitis
Skin disorders
- germ resistant dermatitis
- stubborn acne
Tropical diseases:
Precautions for Oregano Essential Oil
There are other varieties of Oregano essential oils rich in Carvacrol (> 50%):
- Origanum onites, from Turkey
- Origanum vulgare subsp. Greece/Turkey hirtum
- Thymbra capitata from Greece
- Origanum heracleoticum L. from Greece
Do not confuse Oregano vulgaris or compact with Marjoram with shells (Origanum majorana) whose HE does not contain phenols, even if, formally, oregano bore the name of “Wild Marjoram”
Usage precautions
- Diffusion and inhalation are not recommended
- Very irritating essential oil: Cutaneous route with great caution and very dilute (max 5%): preferably seek advice from a doctor or pharmacist specialized in essential oils.
- Aggressive essential oil for the mucous membranes: Oral use is always very diluted, and preferably in the form of a capsule or capsule
- No prolonged use without medical or pharmaceutical advice
- Caution in hepatosensitive people
- Essential oil is not recommended in case of anticoagulant treatments, coagulation disorders, imminent surgery, or digestive ulcer.

History of Myrtle Essential Oil
Myrtle is a plant widespread in the Mediterranean regions, especially in Corsica, Sardinia, and Sicily. It is used to make various liqueurs. But we also know that these small berries similar to juniper are appreciated for their therapeutic properties.
Myrtle and red Myrtle belong to the same species but grow in very different conditions (season, soil, climate, altitude, humidity, sun) and therefore produce oils with different molecules. This is called a chemotype difference. Myrtle has a much higher concentration of myrtenyl acetate than green myrtle, which is more concentrated in alpha-pinene.
Properties of Myrtle Essential Oil
The properties of Myrtle Essential Oil are explained by the presence of active compounds originally present in the leaves and twigs of Myrtus communis cineoliferum (green myrtle, common cineole myrtle).
Expectorant and mucolytic
The richness of the oil in alpha pinene and 1,8-cineole stimulates the mucin glands, which thins the mucus and facilitates its elimination. A very interesting property to fight against cough.
Respiratory, venous, lymphatic, and prostatic decongestant
Thanks to its richness in alpha-pinene and limonene, Myrtle Essential Oil tones the vein walls and helps improve blood and lymphatic circulation. 1,8-cineole is also very active in soothing inflammation of the entire respiratory tree.
Other properties:
- Anti-infective and antiseptic
- Liver stimulant
